Autumn Hexagon Shuffle

2019 has been an exciting quilting year for me so far. I had taken a bit of a break from when my son was born in 2016 as I tried to balance work with my new life as a mom. I am thrilled to be at the sewing machine and truly feeling like myself again.
My first quilt top of 2019 is this Autumn Hexagon Shuffle. I actually had the pattern and cut all my necessary fabrics before my son was born. (Yep! This quilt was a Work In Progress for 3 years!) So when I decided to dive back in to my love of quilting, I thought a partial work in progress would be a great place to start.

This pattern was really interesting. There was a cadence of sewing things together, cutting them up, and then sewing them back together again. The techniques really achieved the end result quite easily, but I'll be honest that it was a bit demotivating at times having to cut apart all the pieces I had just sewn together.
Once all the details were achieved in the rows, it actually came together quickly.

I sent this to my favorite long arm quilter Tacy Gray to have some added love given to this autumn beauty. The straight lines she quilted in really set the pattern off well!

The color scheme really reminds me of fall and I look forward to displaying it in my home this coming season.

Have a very quilty day! Katie
